What is Salsa?

Salsa is a form of dance that originated in Latin America, particularly in Cuba and Puerto Rico. This spirited dance concentrates on rhythm and movement. Salsa music has its roots in Afro-Caribbean culture. Salsa has gained popularity throughout the world, encompassing both vibrant sounds in its music and elegant movements when dancing to salsa beats.

What is Salsa Good For?

This lively and sometimes sensual dance is a good way to unwind and have fun getting fit. Salsa requires that you are on your feet and ready to move, improving your coordination, balance, flexibility and endurance. Salsa dancing can provide you with a low-impact cardio work-out, much like aerobics. If you are tired of going to the gym or jogging the same route everyday, salsa might be a good alternative to more traditional exercise techniques and a good way to meet new people as well.

Who Is Salsa Good For?

Salsa is good for all age groups. Salsa classes and/or lessons are offered across the UK, catering to both beginners and advanced dancers.

Most salsa lessons don’t require you bring a partner, so don’t let not having a partner stop you from going to a lesson!
