What is Spray Tanning?
Tanning without the sun, or fake tanning can be a great way to get or keep a tan when the real thing isn't available and without the harmful affects of the sun. Fake tanning is a process of tanning without exposure to the sun, including tanning with lotions and spray-on tanning.
As concerns over UVR exposure and skin cancer continue to rise, more people are opting for a Fake Tan. The active ingredients in the majority of Fake Tans is a natural acid called 'DHA'. This is the same naturally occurring acid that turns the flesh of an apple brown once it has been exposed to air. Today, Beauty Therapists can offer a wide range of fake tans, from spray tanning to more conventional creams/lotions.
Those clients opting for a spray-on tan are recommended to exfoliate their skin prior to treatment and will have little physical contact with the therapist compared to those who choose a cream-based tan.
